New "Offload media to Cloudflare Images" plugin
Most website optimizers encounter performance audits highlighting:
- Efficiently encode images
- Serve images in next-gen formats
WordPress currently lags in supporting WebP and AVIF formats. While discussions continue about native WordPress implementation, a solution remains distant.
Website owners addressing next-gen format support typically use third-party plugins hosting images on external CDNs. However, this approach often proves expensive for small businesses with significant traffic.
We’ve offered Cloudflare Images integration on client sites, where it automatically compresses, resizes, and converts images to optimal formats for each browser. Users accepting AVIF receive that format.
“Store, resize, and optimize images at scale using one unified product.”
The service costs significantly less than many WordPress optimization plugins.
